Bone broth is the boiling of bones of healthy animals with herbs, spices and vegetables. It is a staple food
in most traditional food diets and is most sort after because of it’s nutrients. Broth is more or less a savory liquid made from the simmering of bones, meat, fish or vegetables, it is mostly used to prepare other dishes like soups, gravies and sauces.

Another good thing to know about broth is that, it is a cheap and highly nutrient dense food consumed in many societies around the world. It is an superb source of minerals and vitamins, as it is high in calcium, magnesium and phosphorous which is good for tooth and bone health.

  • Add a little more water if you feel there is a need
  • Add your veggies and bring to boil
  • Lower the heat, cover and cook for 24-72 hours if you are using a regular pot, it is not advisable to leave it on overnight so turn it off and continue the next day
  • In the last few minutes of cooking you can add some fresh parsley for added flavor
  • Once done, let it cool off, strain and store it
  • Add salt to taste and drink or store in the fridge for up to 7 days and it can be frozen for up to 6 months for use in stews and soups
